The CDC and Prevention say handwashing is the
single most effective way to prevent the
transmission of disease.
Yes it is that time of year again and the Clean Hands Coalition would like to remind you that “Clean hands prevent illness and save lives”! The CHC began May 1, 2003 under the umbrella of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, with a flurry of enthusiasm by many other Federal agencies, universities, professional societies, foundations and corporations around the US to create a portal for disseminating best practices inhand hygiene in the areas of food safety, healthcare and public health. We discuss up to date science and behavior change strategies to achieve our goal. We use International Clean Hands Week (3rd week of September annually) as our pivotal marketing strategy to raise awareness.
Remember we humans are the petri-dish that grow and multiply all seasonal flu, influenza like illness and even Pandemic. So if we all practiced vigilant hand hygiene and cross contamination awareness we would eliminate many preventable respiratory and food borne infectious disease. So we are ASKING you to lend your support to help all of us “stay well” by sharing this information withtheir network and customers. There is a posterattached that you may print and post, email or broadcast fax that helps convey the message. Please friend Clean Hands Coalition on facebook to jump start your good health and wellbeing.
Thank you for helping to “spread the word not the germs”!
Dr. Will Sawyer
