Newborn Parents
Newborn babies are more susceptible than adults to the random germs that surround us all. They dont have the antibody history that adults do so theyre less able to fight off sickness. What kinds of germs are out there waiting to make your baby sick? More than can you can see. There are viruses that cause colds, flu and diarrhea and bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus (staph), strep and parasites. Escherichia coli (E. coli) traces can be found on the hands of someone who uses improper hand washing techniques after using the bathroom. Parents, we offer important advice. Wash your hands regularly before handling your baby: when you arrive home or come in from outside, after using the toilet, after handling food, after touching your family pet, and always before you feed your baby. Post Henry the Hands sign on your front door or entrance hall (you can create this on the customizable poster). This will alert guests to your desire to help keep your home and baby free from germs. Never let anyone handle your baby unless he/she has washed his or her hands correctly.
