RE-train Everyone about the T Zone

NOW is the Time to Re-Train EVERYONE about the T Zone!

To protect EVERYONE from Ebola, especially the Health Care Workers who are at the greatest risk. Personal hand hygiene “bad habits” need to become the FOCUS of today. Start NOW and re-train your fellow workers so they “Do Not Touch the T Zone” (facial mucous membranes of eyes, nose and mouth) and INFECT themselves. The T Zone is the ONLY portal of entry into human body for all respiratory infections INCLUDING EBOLA. Improved accountability will help EVERYONE reduce their risk.

Dr. William P. Sawyer, Infection Prevention Specialist, says “if you understand the role your hands play in the contraction and spread of infections you will feel safer”. He wants you and your family to understand the fact that “the power to prevent Ebola is in YOUR hands”! Healthcare workers are the primary victims of Ebola at this time, much like the SARS experience in Toronto.

It is time to elevate the normative conversation across your facility to make your hospital and Doctor’s Office both “staff and patient safe” regardless of the infectious disease in your facility. And in turn will help protect our family and community. Does your healthcare professional touch their T Zone? If so, help them stop. It could kill them!

The CDC explains how the only way to contract the virus is “through direct contact with blood or bodily fluids of an infected person or through exposure to objects (such as needles) that have been contaminated with infected secretions. “However it is self inoculation of contaminated bodily fluids (mucous, respiratory droplets and other bodily fluids) that causes you to contract the Ebola virus”.

Ebola Prevention starts with YOU! Directly state to the public “Do not touch your facial mucous membranes (T Zone)” as it is the only portal of entry into human body for all respiratory infections and how a healthcare worker can contract Ebola, unless a needle stick.

We offer HealthShields in large quantities to help Re-Train staff and students to make us more “Hand Aware”!

Reiterating the Importance of “Do Not Touch Your T Zone” will improve the sense of safety for everyone! Yes habits are hard to break, but it is critical so you do not “self-innoculate” with the Ebola Virus.

Infection Prevention is EVERYONE’S business!!

Thank you for helping to “Spread the Word not the Germs”!
